Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), open until filled

The job of a BCBA is done for the purpose/s of measuring and interpreting behavioral principles to measuring the behaviors of students; interpreting data; applying state and federal codes; determining need for behavior support; and/or other intervention planning and services; developing strategies and interventions to address the needs of students-including those served by and IEP or 504; and working collaboratively with other service providers, parents, teachers, counselors, and administration. This position serves as a key contributor within the educational team.

Essential Functions Administers applied behavioral analysis principles to conduct functional behavior assessments, create behavioral intervention plans, and provide recommendations for improving behaviors of students ranging from school-wide to individual intervention.

Able to use applied behavior principles to support and/or classroom environment for the purpose of identifying student's strengths and needs, developing and recommendations for effective interventions and services for placement that would maximize the student learning environment, and measuring progress and outcomes with a multitiered system of supports.

Collaborates with internal and external personnel (e.g. other service providers, parents, teachers, counselors, and administration, outside professionals, etc.) for the purpose of providing requested information, resolving issues that impact a students learning, evaluating and developing plans for services, and making recommendations.

Compiles information from a variety of sources (e.g. teachers, nurse, probation officer, mental health agencies, other professionals, etc.) for the purpose of producing student behavior intervention plans and giving recommendations in compliance with professional practices and established guidelines.

Coordinates with community agencies including medical, judicial, social service, and mental health services for the purpose of determining appropriate treatment environment to meet the needs of specific students.

Develops services (e.g. behavior plans, curriculum modifications, etc.) for the purpose of implementing treatment programs that increase student learning and performance, promoting resilience and positive behavior, supporting socialization and adaptive skills, and enhancing mental and behavioral health in compliance with regulatory requirements, established guidelines, and performance standards.

Intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior of students for the purpose of assisting students in modifying such behavior and developing successful interpersonal skills. Oversees interns, practicum students, paraeducators, and others for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth, and achieving overall objectives of school's curriculum.

Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. extension requests, correspondence, memos, behavior plans, Medicaid billings, reports, required documentation, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. Researches resources and methods (e.g. intervention and treatment techniques, assessment tools and methods, community resources, etc.) for the purpose of determining the appropriate approach for addressing students' functional and behavior goals.

Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
