Venture Academy is currently accepting applications for the position of Middle School History teacher. Venture is a public charter school located in Marriott-Slaterville (Ogden area). It was founded in 2008 and is highly recognized for its collaborative culture, active student engagement, emphasis on depth over breadth, fieldwork in the community, and high quality finished products/performances. The position will involve the following responsibilities:
1. Designing curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices that reflect Expeditionary Learning core practices and meet Utah Core academic standards. 2. Developing expeditions that include fieldwork, experts, service, and high-quality final products aligned to state standards for classroom use and to share with the EL community. 3. Formatively assessing student work regularly and using the data to refine and differentiate lessons. 4. Commitment to and active participation in professional development and coaching cycles. 5. Working with a team of teachers to develop programs and practices, schedules and structures that support the vision and goals of the school.
