Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an enjoyable and gratifying employment opportunity with our school. We are looking for a caring and motivated Educator for the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, located at the Jean Massieu School in Salt Lake City.
Principal Duties As an Educator you will: -Provide appropriate programming that include effective instructional practices for deaf/hard-of-hearing students -Apply a wide variety of instructional techniques, including student-centered learning, learning through play, cooperative learning, and instructional media to promote learning. -Develops lesson plans and uses a variety of assessment techniques that incorporate the Utah State Core Curriculum, adapts curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilizes effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences for a wide range of students’ needs. -Create an inclusive classroom environment using individualized instruction (academics, language, behavioral) to assist students with varying needs. -Ability to understand and use current technology and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction and experience. -Collaborate and communicate frequently with families and staff regarding student progress and needs. -Work closely with other teachers for lesson planning. -Collect data and provide assessments to develop and complete students IEP in a timely manner and implement IEPs. -Understand and use computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
