Job Description The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider an enjoyable and gratifying employment opportunity with our Agency. We are looking for a knowledgeable, caring and innovative Early Intervention Specialist with the Parent Infant Program for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing.

Principal Duties As a Specialist you will: -Perform the duties of an emissary for the USDB Parent Infant Program for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (PIPDHH). -Provide appropriate programming for deaf/hard-of-hearing children, birth to 3 years of age, with an emphasis in developmental milestones, auditory skills and language development, and displays an ability to work effectively with parents in a home-based environment. -Prepare and write lesson plans for each child and family. -Provide effective home visits, sharing new language/listening strategies with the family. -Teach and support families in learning skills that support the development of the child. -Advises and teaches parents in the area of deafness/hearing loss and language and cognitive development. -Assists parents in embedding language within the child’s everyday routines.
