Job Summary:
The paid Teacher Trainee (TE) is a combination of Level I and Level II internship program for a student in a university teacher preparation program. Teacher Experience offers a collaborative coaching model in an inclusive classroom setting. TE will assist and lead with a variety of functions, including implementing instructional programs, assessing student performance and other tasks as needed by teacher while completing university degree requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction. Leads small and whole group of instruction for students. Assists teacher in writing lesson plans and Individual Education Plans. Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom. Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring. Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection. Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection. Perform teacher duties in his/her absence. Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.) Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean) Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication. Attend required training, meetings, and events. Ensure the administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints. Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies. Perform other duties as assigned.
