UCPs instructional approach is designed to reach every learner through customized instruction, technology integration, art integration, and project-based learning. Each UCP campus has a unique community feel, with low student/instructor ratios and inclusive classrooms where children with and without disabilities learn and grow together.
Job Summary:
The position will work in partnership with teachers to integrate performing arts (music, dance, drama) arts into the curriculum
Job Responsibilities:
Provide direct, instructional support, coaching and guidance to teachers integrating the arts within their classrooms and embedded throughout the curriculum(s). Develop, select and model lessons that meaningfully integrate the performing arts (music, dance, and drama/theater) as an instructional strategy and incorporate use of arts integration. Provide music instrument instruction to students. Collaborate with teachers to develop plans to improve student performance in academic subjects through arts integrations. Assists teachers in developing accommodations and adaptations to ensure full participation of all students Assists teachers in creating an arts integrated classroom environment that provide for student involvement in the learning process and enables each students to achieve their learning objectives by coaching and guiding teachers. Provide input regarding the planning of instructional goals, objectives and methods in arts integration. Participates in and delivers arts integration professional development to families and staff members. Leads the creation and implementation of performances (i.e. Share performances, shows, etc.) Assist in coordination of campus-based artist in residents/art related field trips.
