Secondary/High School Social Studies Teacher for the 23-24 school year
About Spectrum Academy Spectrum Academy is a premier Charter School that specializes in working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Approximately 80% of our student body receives Special Education services. Our classrooms are a hybrid of mainstream and resource models found at typical schools. Teachers at Spectrum Academy are required to have an IEP caseload and work with students who may or may not be receiving Special Education services.
Essential Functions 1. Implement the assigned program of study. 2. Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning. 3. Utilize instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximizes time on task. 4. Develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEP’s) in accordance with school policy. 5. Monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals on the IEPs. 6. Communicate effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis. 7. Meet professional responsibilities. 8. Maintain and upgrade professional skills. 9. Maintain professional work habits. 10. Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships. 11. Adhere to the teacher code of conduct. 12. Perform other job related duties as assigned by the Principal and the Academic Director.
Reports To Secondary School Administration Salary Range Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Educator's Salary adjustment, if made available for the 2024-2025 school year, has not been added into salary range. If made available, additional information will be provided to educators regarding amount, payment schedule, and requirements as outlined by Utah State Law to qualify for said monies.
