TEACH STRONG ESE 2024 (Exceptional Student Education) - ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
To prepare and equip participants to support the learning needs of students with disabilities and ensure their educational, behavioral, social, and emotional successes.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW Participate in an intensive five-week summer training (Tentative Dates/Subject to Change: June 21 – July 26, 2024), consisting of a comprehensive professional development curriculum, immersive classroom experiences, and mentorship.
Receive a $3,000 stipend in two (2) installments with the final payment issued after completion of the program.
Hire into full-time ESE teaching positions with the District upon meeting all Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) pre-employment requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree • Eligibility in a core subject area based on degree major OR evidence of a passing score on the ESE K-12 Subject Area Exam (SAE). For detailed testing information, visit https://www.fl.nesinc.com/ • Completion of M-DCPS TEACh Strong ESE application • Commitment to full five-week summer training • Commitment to teach in M-DCPS as an ESE teacher • Commitment to pass the ESE K-12 SAE • Commitment to apply to the Florida Department of Education before full-time hire – not required for acceptance into the program • Applicants cannot have prior teaching experience as a full-time teacher in a K-12 classroom
