Merit Prep Academy is a public secondary charter school serving up to 525 students in grades 7-12 in Springville, UT for the last 15 years. We are looking for a full-time special education teacher to work in our special education department. This position will be working with secondary students in a variety of settings and ranging from mild to moderate to severe disabilities. Applicant should expect to have a caseload of 20-25 special education students and manage their individualized plan including academic and behavioral support with a wonderful special education including related support providers (Speech/Language Therapist, School Psychologist, LCSW, Occupational Therapist, and BCBA as needed depending on students IEP). Applicant will work under a Special Education Coordinators and School Administration. Contract hours will be from 8am-3:45pm Mondays- Thursdays and 8am-3:15 pm on Fridays. These will be dependent on professional developments and other meetings. Current bell schedule is a block schedule including 8 class periods, four 80 minute class periods each day from 8:30am-3:15pm.
