POSITION: Testing and Intervention Coordinator, Manassas Park Middle School
Salary/Hours:

JOB SUMMARY:
The Testing and Intervention Coordinator performs a variety of professional, technical, and administrative tasks in order to direct the administration of local, state, and federal testing of students at Manassas Park Middle School. The Testing and Intervention Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supervising the school-wide implementation of all local and state testing programs, which includes serving as the school testing coordinator. The Testing and Intervention Coordinator will also be responsible for analyzing data and working with the school administration and faculty in understanding assessment data in order to generate effective responses to the school/students' academic and behavioral needs. Essential components of the position include possessing substantive organizational skills; in depth work handling and analyzing assessment and assessment data and using data to inform decision-making and educational practices; oversight and supervision of the effective implementation of required state and district assessments; strong, effective communication, collaboration, and writing abilities; and successful collaboration with educators to implement impactful instructional classroom strategies, conduct student academic assessments, and execute and guide effective remediation activities/strategies. The role also requires demonstrating initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, along with leadership qualities to provide professional development. This position is supervised by the building principal.
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- Must hold a Postgraduate Professional license, with a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience.
- Knowledge and experience with assessment practices and methods, rubric design, and student learning outcomes.
- Experience in leading programs and/or initiatives.
- Knowledge of state accreditation standards and federal accountability requirements.
- Knowledge of PowerSchool, Google Suite, and Excel.
- Demonstrated organization and attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: (including but not limited to the following)
- Complies with all school laws, State Board of Education regulations, and all policies and regulations made by the School Board and Superintendent.
- Performs all duties deemed necessary by the School Board and Superintendent for the efficient and successful operation of the school system.
- Organizing, managing, and implementing all state and federal standardized testing, including training of staff, maintaining accurate and complete records, coordinating distribution and collection of secure test materials, administering tests in accordance with the established test calendar, providing and completing all test documents to the DDOT by established deadlines;
- Making meaning of multiple data sources in support of the data driven decision-making efforts of school leadership;
- Monitoring student achievement through benchmark, summative, and formative assessments, and utilizing this data to make informed recommendations;
- Interpreting test results and provide written interpretation and analysis for school and individual teacher use;
- Providing teachers and instructional support staff with assistance in developing and using local assessments to better align instruction to student needs;
- Providing teachers and instructional support staff with assistance in developing intervention plans to meet the needs of identified students;
- Planning and conducting professional development activities that focus on the use of data and assessment to enhance learning and collaborative instructional planning;
- Acting as the school-based lead in the implementation of district and school-based assessment programs (examples include but are not limited to SOLs including VAAP, Mastery Connect, Benchmark Assessments, STAR, Imagine, Achieve, etc.) ensuring all students receive the appropriate testing accommodations;
- Lead the Balanced Assessment Program at Manassas Park Middle School, including all state-reported performance assessments;
- Oversees the development and implementation of school academic and behavioral intervention and remediation programs;
- Responsible for ensuring assessment-related mandatory parental notifications are issued and addressing parental inquiries regarding assessment results;
- Ensures assessment data is accurately documented and stored; and
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the ability to effectively communicate and interact with other staff and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment such as, but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions will be required.
