Biology and Anatomy & Physiology Teacher with Assistant HS Basketball Coach

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Biology and Anatomy & Physiology Teacher who will also serve as an Assistant High School Basketball Coach at Layton Christian Academy high school in Layton, UT. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in science education and a commitment to helping students grow academically and spiritually and athletically.

Responsibilities:

Teach Biology and Anatomy & Physiology courses to high school students, following the school's curriculum and state standards. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on learning experiences. Assess student progress through various methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations. Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters student growth and encourages Christian values. Collaborate with other science teachers to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive science program. Assist the Head Basketball Coach in planning and executing practices, games, and team events. Provide guidance and support to student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development. Attend professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in science education and coaching.
