Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Indian River Charter High School. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, and the ability to inspire and engage students in the learning process. The Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and academic growth. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement engaging and rigorous lesson plans that align with the Florida Standards for Mathematics and the school's curriculum objectives. Mentor 25 students for four years through a unique curriculum (Homebase). This class includes individual meetings, parent communication, and weekly lessons. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology tools to enhance student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and provide support or enrichment as necessary. Create a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students. Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction accordingly. Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance, and effectively manage classroom discipline and behavior issues. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to discuss student progress, academic concerns, and other relevant information. Participate in professional development activities, team meetings, and school-wide initiatives to support continuous improvement and professional growth. Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to integrate mathematics across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary connections. Actively engage in the school community by attending events, participating in extracurricular activities, and supporting the mission and values of Indian River Charter High School.
