Elementary School Special Education Teacher Premiere Charter School Located in Utah's Silicon Slopes, Traverse Mountain, Lehi Focus on Innovative, Montessori-Driven Approach Supportive and Collaborative Work Environment

Ignite Entrepreneurship Academy is a dynamic and inclusive elementary school dedicated to providing high-quality education to all students. As part of our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our student body, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team.

Position Overview: The Elementary School Special Education Teacher will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that they receive the necessary accommodations, modifications, and specialized instruction to succeed in the classroom. This individual will collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement effective educational plans tailored to each student's unique strengths and challenges.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in accordance with state and federal regulations. 2. Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in various academic subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, and social skills development. 3. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students with disabilities, including the use of multisensory teaching strategies, assistive technology, and other accommodations. 4. Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum materials and adapt instructional techniques to support students with special needs in inclusive classroom settings. 5. Monitor student progress and collect data to assess learning outcomes, adjust instructional strategies as needed, and communicate progress to parents, administrators, and other stakeholders. 6. Conduct ongoing assessments to identify students with potential learning disabilities or other special needs, and collaborate with the appropriate team members to initiate the referral and evaluation process. 7. Work collaboratively with other members of the special education team, including paraprofessionals, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to student support services. 8. Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community partners to foster a supportive and inclusive school culture. 9. Stay current with best practices in special education, attend professional development opportunities, and participate in ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
