DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership, guidance, and support to the school psychology team across the division. This role includes oversight of the implementation of psychological services, coordination of professional development, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and promoting best practices in the evaluation, eligibility, and mental health supports for students. Responsible for administering, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating Psychological Services staff including assignments, professional case consultation, and technical assistance in collaboration with the immediate supervisor.
- Provide clinical and procedural support to school psychologists across the division.
- Establish and maintain equitable caseloads for each staff member.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular department meetings to ensure consistent practice.
- Assist in developing and maintaining procedures and documentation aligned with IDEA, Section 504, and state regulations.
- Support school psychologists in complex evaluations, eligibility determinations, and crisis response.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with evaluation timelines, documentation requirements, and ethical practice.
- Serve as a resource to administrators and staff regarding psychological services and mental health supports.
- Coordinate onboarding, mentoring, and professional development for new and veteran school psychologists.
- Analyze service delivery models and make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote comprehensive supports for students.
- Represent school psychologists on committees, leadership teams, and task forces as appropriate.
- Develop, maintain and monitor the budget for psychological services; inventory protocols and materials for the department.
- Assist with recruitment, selection, and evaluation of school psychology personnel.
- Remain abreast of current professional literature and resources as it relates to psychological services.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a state-approved program in school psychology at the Educational Specialist’s degree level with at least 60 semester hours of graduate credit or hold the Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) credential.
- At least 5 years of experience working as a school psychologist.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and exemplary oral and written communication skills.
- In-depth understanding of special education law, regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to mentor others and build a collaborative team culture.
- Proficiency in data analysis and use of data to inform practice.
- Demonstrated commitment to equitable and inclusive practices to address the needs of diverse learners.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in the special education process for evaluative procedures; knowledge of best practices in school procedures and regulations relating to school behavioral/mental health and evaluation.
- Collaboration with parents and community agencies.
