High School Counselor
Must hold a license issued by Utah State Office of Education.
The license must be in School Counselor (K-12) (Level 1).
The license position area must be in one of the following areas: Counselor/Guidance, Financial Aid, Minority/Multicultural Affairs.
The license must be in one of the following grades: 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program. Expired certifications will be considered.
Description
Juan Diego Catholic High School is accepting applications for a full-time salaried Counselor for the 2024-2025 school year. Eligible candidates must have a bachelor's or master's in School Counseling or a related field, at least two years of experience in secondary education working directly with precollege adolescents. and their families and demonstrated the ability to work directly with students, parents, and teachers one-on-one, in small groups and in a classroom environment. Applicants must be experienced in the college recruiting process, the selection and application processes, financial aid and scholarship resources, NCAA and NAIA eligibility, recommendation writing and student essay writing. Applicants must also possess an understanding of Catholic values and have a commitment to uphold them.
Preferred candidates will have a Masters degree in counseling, hold a current Utah State Counselor License, have expertise with Google Apps for Education, the Canvas online course management system and the PowerSchool database. Candidates need demonstrated ability to multi-task within a fast-paced work environment including the ability to manage uneven workflow patterns, deadlines, and changing priorities. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
