Must hold a license issued by any agency.
The license position area must be in Special Education (General).
The license must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th.
The license status must be active or about to graduate from a state-approved teacher preparation program.
Description
Channing Hall Charter School is seeking a warm, engaging Special Education Teacher for grades K-8.
A successful candidate will: • Coordinate and prepare student IEPs in consultation with parents and IEP team members • Design and implement instruction (individual and small group) which parallels the general education curriculum • Assist in the coordination of IEP implementation with special education support staff and general education staff • Record and monitor student participation and progress • Participate in review and revision of IEPs • Use specialized equipment and facilities, such as audio-visual materials and computers to facilitate learning • Collaborate with other professionals such as, speech and language therapists, social workers, school psychologist • Work with enrichment students as needed. • Participate in the management and upkeep of special education files. • Attend meetings and in-service trainings. • Maintain accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, board policy and administrative regulation •Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner •Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms •Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s) and cooperatively, with administration, evaluate their job performance •Maintain and improve professional competence •Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required
