Technology Coach

Effective August 1, 2024

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Professional Development: Develop and deliver technology-related professional development sessions for teachers, administrators, and staff in various formats, including workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching sessions. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to educators to help them integrate technology seamlessly into their instructional practices.

Curriculum Integration: Model technology-rich lessons across the curriculum to demonstrate effective integration strategies. Train teachers on utilizing software programs and technology tools aligned with the school’s curriculum and state standards.

Resource Management: Establish and maintain technology resources for teachers, ensuring access to necessary hardware, software, and digital resources. Facilitate the sharing of technology resources and best practices among schools within the district to foster collaboration and innovation.

Communication and Support: Serve as the primary point of contact between the Instructional Technology Department and assigned schools, communicating training opportunities, and coordinating future technology initiatives. Provide resources and updates to administrators for newsletter or staff communication. Support students, teachers, and administrators in various aspects of instructional technology such as computer science integration, STE(A)M, using technology in classroom instruction

Equipment Management: Assist in maintaining accurate records of technology equipment, including inventory tracking, maintenance schedules, and repair histories. Set up and maintain iPads and other technology resources to ensure optimal functionality.

Professional Development: Stay informed about emerging technology trends and best practices through participation in workshops, conferences, webinars, and other district-approved activities. Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues and stakeholders to foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation. STE(A)M/Computer Science: Provide personalized coaching and professional development to educators on integrating technology effectively into STE(A)M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum, fostering innovative teaching practices. Collaborate with faculty to design and implement engaging STE(A)M lessons and projects, leveraging digital tools and resources to enhance student learning experiences.

Digital Citizenship: Provide support for schools for the Digital Citizenship curriculum. Work on targets and goals with administration for delivery of lessons and parent outreach Participate in the promotion and development of resources or media for Digital Citizenship Week, contributing to the district-level activities and initiatives, raising awareness, and fostering understanding of key digital citizenship concepts. Model in your professional and personal life appropriate behavior and values, particularly in the digital realm.

Additional Support: Assist with the setup and administration of standardized testing procedures, including preparing devices and troubleshooting technical issues. Provide technology assistance to principals, instructional coaches, and other school personnel as needed. Manage and update school websites to ensure accurate and relevant information for stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree required and teaching experience Working knowledge of instructional technology and its uses Experience teaching/coaching/leading adults Excellent ability to relate to students, teachers, and administrators Willingness to develop own professional knowledge and skills Experience with integrating technology in the classroom to provide opportunities for students to master computer science standards and to increase student engagement. Demonstrates mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of this position


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to school district around the county.

PHYSCIAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS, WORK HAZARDS:
