REGISTERED NURSE 1:1
 
Location: Phoenix Campus
Employee Status: Limited Time Appointment
Hours Per Week: 40
Work Calendar: 10-Month
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
 
CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or other related duties
  • Provide basic ongoing heath care and treatment to students per IEP/MET
  • Monitor, track, and report changes in students’ illness or injury
  • Prepare and administer medications
  • Monitor and maintain student health records per Federal, State and County laws, rules and regulations
  • Work as part of a health care team to assess student needs; develop and modify individual student health care plans
  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies ensuring immediate access to items needed for daily care
  • Continue professional growth through coursework, trainings, and workshops
 
KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
  • Principles and practices of administration and management
  • Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
  • Information and procedures needed to diagnose and treat injuries
  • Federal, State, and County Health Board laws, rules, and regulations
  • School Nurse Practice Standards, policies and procedures
  • Practices and procedures of pharmacology and medications
  • Federal, State and Local laws governing the control and security of medications

SPECIAL CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to pass FBI and State Background check
  • Defensive driver training program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on state business
  • Current Arizona State Licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Work related skill, knowledge, and experience in pediatrics
  • Must pass post offer physical
  • ASL (American Sign Language) skills if working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing or willingness to learn
