Description

Assists students and parents in developing an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for prescribed students to achieve educational, career and personal/social goals. Provides for input from students and parents in developing goals and improvement strategies. Collects and maintains data as required by state and federal guidelines and assists with data input into the information management system. Provides monitoring of student education plans to ensure alignment and achievement of goals. Works in collaboration with other stakeholders in narrowing the achievement gap. Provides professional guidance to establish a culture conducive to learning for exceptional education students. Counsels prescribed students with academic, career and personal/social concerns. Assists with registration of prescribed students and development of class schedules. Consults with a variety of school based teams to facilitate appropriate placement decisions to enhance student achievement. Confers with classroom teachers, administration, support staff, community agencies and parents regarding students and their needs. Provides support to teachers in the delivery of curriculum. Builds, maintains, and improves student, parent, and community partnerships. Effectively communicates and implements classroom expectations to all stakeholders. Assists with school and district initiatives as needed. Identifies and disaggregates critical data and uses the data to develop strategies to positively impact students. Deals professionally and appropriately with all stakeholders. Adheres to ethical and legal professional standards. Uses appropriate technology for services. Takes reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Performs other related duties as required.
