Job Specifications: (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required)

Possesses an active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License from the Florida’s Department of Health Possesses an active motor vehicle driver’s license and have vehicle at his/her disposal. Demonstrates knowledge of agency, local, state, and federal regulations pertinent to the duties of this position. Demonstrates knowledge of school and clinical organization and administration. Demonstrates expertise in understanding agency clinical therapy service policies and procedures and service delivery model. Demonstrates high professional and personal standards of integrity. Works Independently.

Job Responsibilities:

Submits accurate and timely Charter Superbills on a daily basis according to UCP guidelines. Submits accurate and timely Tracking logs on a weekly basis according to UCP guidelines. Provides and monitors client coverage and turn in revised schedules on a weekly basis. This requires achieving monthly and annual productivity goals based on existing caseload. Ensures compliance of UCP Confidentiality and HIPAA patient rights procedures for all client files and information on therapist caseload. Self-Identifies, verbally and/or in writing, as SLPA to families, students, staff and colleagues. Assists the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with speech, language, and hearing screenings without clinical interpretation. Assists the SLP during assessment of students and clients exclusive of administration and/or interpretation. Follows documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP. Collects data on student achievement for the purpose of documenting activities, preparing reports and/or updating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Documents student performance (i.e., tallying data for the SLP to use; preparing charts, records, and graphs) and report this information to the supervising SLP on a timely basis. Programs and provides instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices as instructed by the SLP. Adapts educational materials and equipment for the purpose of providing and/or meeting the individual student’s needs, as directed by the supervising SLP. Assists the supervising SLP in facilitating meetings/communications between therapist, site staff, parents, etc. for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding students’ goals. Consults with speech/language pathologist, teachers, etc. for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services. Perform other duties as assigned.
