The Professional Learning Specialist oversee the professional learning of the UCP Charter School system of schools. This position is a year-round position.
Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and evaluate professional learning that is based on research-based strategies and a change in practice with ongoing monitoring, including observation, feedback, and reflection Develop/enhance and ensure implementation of New Staff Orientation, New Education Academy, Teacher Mentor Program, Paraprofessional Training program and Principal Certification program. This would include providing some of the professional learning and developing online modules. Coordinate the ongoing implementation of the Powerschool Professional Development platform (create courses, etc) including working with other charter school partner networks. Update and monitor the UCP DOE Professional Learning Plan (PLP) as needed. Develop and implement a UCP Institute (Professional Learning opportunities for other schools/districts). Builds capacity with consortium and school staff to provide ongoing, job-embedded professional learning. Compile and analyze data relating to the professional learning for all team members. Prepare reports as needed. Participate as a member of the Education Leadership team to exchange information, coordinate activities, develop teacher support resources, and resolve issues or concerns. Keep abreast of best practices/developments in professional learning and determining their appropriateness (and implementing if appropriate) for inclusion in UCP’s educational program. Perform other duties assigned.
