We are looking to hire a Paraprofessoinal for our K-8 Charter School is located in Harrisville (Ogden area). This position will finish out this school year, and work throughout the summer! We are looking for individuals that have experience working in education or are pursuing a degree in teaching. This job is part time, 20-28 hours per week, no benefits. Schedule will be approximately M, T, TH, F from 9am-3pm. Responsibilities include supporting the learning and behavior needs for students with Individual Education Plans. Pay is dependent upon experience and education Must pass a background check.
Description of Position: Under the supervision of the director, the Paraprofessional collaborates with the classroom teacher to implement instructional strategies based on student needs. The Paraprofessional will assist teachers with instruction in math, reading, and writing. You will assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing educational benefit for students. You will perform progress monitoring, and will at times work with small groups of students, or with the entire class. Experience and Education: High school diploma or equivalent •Training or experience that clearly demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities detailed below is required.

Major Responsibilities • Works with an individual student or small group of students to reinforce learning of materials and skills initially introduced and outlined by teaching staff. • Assists with larger groups of students, enabling the teaching staff to work with smaller focus groups. • Assists teaching staff in devising special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities. • Monitors instruction, work, activities, and behavior of students as assigned by the teaching staff. • Performs clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned by the teaching staff. • Alerts the teaching staff to any problem or special information about an individual student or students. • Performs assigned supervision of students as assigned by the teaching staff.• Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in a school environment and community. Working days follow the school calendar. Position constitutes an employee at-will. Position opened until filled.
