Must hold a certificate issued by Florida Department of Education.
The certificate must be in one of the following types: Professional Certificate, Temporary Certificate, Statement of Status of Eligibility.
The certificate position area must be in one of the following areas: Autism, Deaf-Blind, Early Intervention Specialist, Educational Diagnostician, Emotional Behavior Disabilities, Hearing Impairment, Intellectual Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Severe/Profound Disabilities, Special Education (General), Traumatic Brain Injury, Visual Impairment, Cooperative/Experiential Education, Grants/Research, Instructional Technology, International Programs, Public Relations/Community Outreach, Special Education.
The certificate must be in one of the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th.
Description
• Plan and develop pull-out and/or push-in lessons (building on content area teacher lesson plans) for students with special needs • Attend district and state meetings to maintain knowledge of ESE issues • Work with the ESE coordinator and the district staffing specialist to participate in referrals, IEP meetings, etc. • Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws • Participate in the development of IEP’s, 504 plans • Coordinate the operation of the Student Support Team (Child Study Team), including scheduling, notifying appropriate parties, and conducting meetings • Complete all activities and needs that require teacher attention, action, or input. • Assure that each assigned student is academically successful, behaviorally and socially appropriate, achieves his/her documented academic goals, and demonstrates at least one full year of growth on standardized test measures * Assist in providing training, modeling, and other assistance to classroom teachers in order to maximize learning opportunities for students with special needs
