Title: Bus Attendant (Special Needs) Overview Bradley County Schools is employing a bus attendant to provide student support on Special Education Buses that transport students with special medical, physical and behavioral needs. The bus attendant must attend training on information regarding students with special needs, students confidentiality, and bus loading and unloading procedures including the secure transport of wheelchairs, emergency procedures and bus inspection for the end of each route. Additionally the bus attendant will be trained in any special requirements of conditions included in the student's IEP regarding the safe transport of required medications and medications that that may be needed to be administered in emergency situations. Qualifications Someone willing to help children. Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the Director of Facilities, to ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, and others to and from school, residential neighborhoods, and field trips.

Travel Requirements Travels to and from school district buildings, to vehicle service stations, field trip locations and other destinations are required. Qualifications Profile Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Bilingual, both oral and written, ability (English/Spanish) is preferred. FLSA Status: Nonexempt
