Description

Speech-Language Pathologist

 

Requirements:

Current Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate

Certified in Speech-Language Pathologist

 

Valid Oklahoma Certificate, American Speech and Hearing Association, licensure holding CCC, and state professional license is required.  Individual must possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, typewriter, calculator, assistive technology devices and/or student related tasks. Job requires repetitive actions involving simple and firm grasping.  Job requires occasional carrying or lifting and walking significant distances during the school day.  Job requires frequent bending/stooping., squatting/crouching and occasionally reaching about the shoulder.  Must posses a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.  Board or Superintendent may approve alternatives to these qualifications

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Meets and instructs identified speech/language impaired students in the location and times designated.
  2. Plans a program of improvement that meets the individual needs, interest, and ability of the student.
  3. Creates an environment that is conducive to the improvement of the students.
  4. Employs a variety of instructional techniques consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individual.
  5. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  6. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district, policy, and administrative regulations.
  7. Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  8. Attend staff meetings and serves on building or district committees as required.
  9. Conducts evaluations for all referred speech/language students.
  10. Conducts hearing screening according to the district regulations.
  11. Participates in BRC meetings to provide recommendations to students.
  12. Submit Medicaid billing in a correct and timely manner.
  13. Complete progress reports, IEPs, and Annual Reviews within the required timelines.
  14. Completes duties as required by building sites such as hall, bus morning and afternoon duties.
  15. Other duties as assigned by Special Needs Director and Principal
